The canopy door when open protrudes outward about one-third creating a small overhand. This type of door is ideal for smaller sizes and where manual operation is required. 

The retractable door retracts almost fully into the garage along a horizontal track making it smother to operate and suitable for electric automation. Retractable gear is a standard feature for doors over 8’ (2438mm) wide.
